12:00–13:30pm, Thurs 30 October 2025, online
This online event brings together students, recent graduates, early career researchers, and professionals to explore career pathways in the coastal, marine and environmental sectors. Through a panel discussion featuring speakers from a range of organisations – including JBA Consulting, Local Authority Partnership Coastal Partners, and CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) – engaged in everything from hazard modelling, community engagement, and building resilience to climate change, attendees will gain valuable insights into sector-specific opportunities and career journeys. Following the panel, there will be a Q&A session and a speed-networking activity designed to spark conversation and connections.
An optional 30-minute workshop will be led by specialists from the University of Glasgow’s Careers Service, offering practical advice on making the most of recruitment tools and navigating the job market effectively.
This event was developed by the Coast-R Network+ team in collaboration with practitioners who are keen to connect with the next generation of professionals. It aims to highlight career opportunities in local government, the charitable sector, and other smaller organisations that may not always offer formal graduate training programmes, but play a vital role in advancing coastal, marine and environmental work.
